A cup of wisdom
I had no idea there was a Usenet group called alt.recovery.clutter, but I suppose I’m not really surprised, since these days there’s a group for everything. Anita Rowland reposted something from the newsfroup on her blog under the title Wisdom from alt.recovery.clutter. This could come in handy. There’s some good stuff in there. I particularly like the last item about how binge decluttering doesn’t work.

posting and reading other people’s posts about decluttering has been very helpful to me (I also am on two mailing lists and some web forums on the topic). You get inspiration from other’s efforts, applause and praise for your own. Plus the sneaky feeling of "at least I’m not as bad as *that*!"
some clutterers have trouble with Obsessive-compulsive disorder. some have adhd and never finish anything. some have depression. some are just lazy or perfectionistic procrastinators!
