Fifteen years? Now I don't feel so bad...

I think this is one of the neatest accounts of a marriage proposal I've ever seen:

The short version of the story is this: I met a girl in 1987 who I thought was amazing. Fifteen years later, today, I kneeled on the uppermost knoll of a hill we'd bought together, and asked her to marry me. She said yes, and subsequently, we were surrounded by 85 cows.

They even have a photo of them in the immediate aftermath, just like us. One of these days I'll write up the story behind the photo. (Found via evhead.)

Cows! *giggle*

You know, I sometimes wonder if I should have held out and have Mark do one of these adorable romantic gestures. Seems to have worked for that guy and for you. ;)

And then I realize that what happened with us just totally fits. We came back from a wedding, the comment got tossed out "Ya wanna get married?" [insert a bit of back and forth agreeing and asking the other] "Sure, what are some possible dates?" and I started looking at astrological charts. We set the date and then there was a bit of, "Oh wait, are we engaged now?" "I think so." "Cool!"

I'm not even all that clear on who asked who to be honest.

Wish we had a neat aftermath photo though. I always thought yours was cool. :)

Yeah, I think you've got a great story, too, Tara. :-)

What do you mean there is no cat?

"You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat."

- Albert Einstein, explaining radio
